The MC 23 model is the most compact among the various models that constitute the MC family. The fixed-gantry frame is made of top-grade cast iron and steel to ensure maximum stiffness also when machining steel. Traversing is driven by precisionground ball screws; the 3 axes are simultaneously controlled to ensure precision milling of 2D and complex, 3D designs. The exclusive 9-tools automatic changer is fitted with an air jet to blow the toolholder taper clean. The control unit has panel controls for adjusting spindle and axis speed and coolant flow. It is prearranged for the 4th (indexing). This sophisticated yet rugged and simple machine has a number of uses: marking and engraving, making small dies and electrodes, sheet-metal blanking and punching, plate making, etc. Now it allows also to execute tapping operations.
